Distance learning is defined as a fundamental strategy for Fiocruz to respond effectively to its institutional mission. Several of Fiocruz's units have been applied to develop expertise in the field of education mediated by information technologies.

Currently we have about 150 distance learning courses in Fiocruz, in its Virtual Campus, with courses also offered through UNASUS, about 27 thousand students enrolled.

With the Open University of the Brazilian National Health System (UNASUS) integrated by many brazilians Universities, we reached 1 million and 640 thousand enrolled in all Brazilian municipalities. In addition to the courses, we have educational resources and video lessons available in open access.
