Outline
3rd Symposium on Regulation of the Immune Response in Chronic Inflammatory Diseases
October 7 to 9th, 2024
Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, Manguinhos, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil (Leonidas Deane Pavilion)
The regulation of the immune response in chronic inflammatory diseases is a central element in the evolution of health conditions. During this symposium, new possibilities for prevention, treatment and control of relevant health problems will be discussed, including: mechanisms of negative regulation of effector function in infectious or autoimmune diseases, as well as in malignant tumors; immune-metabolic crosstalk; single-cell gene expression analysis, epigenomics, and multiparametric approaches for the analysis of cell populations and molecules in blood and lesions in the course of chronic inflammatory responses; genomics and precision medicine.
We aim to allow graduate students and research professionals to have an up-to-date view of regulation of chronic inflammation in infectious diseases, and also in neoplasms and autoimmune diseases; encourage discussion on recent approaches in the evaluation of immune and inflammatory response parameters in blood and tissues, stimulate national and international collaborations. We welcome the submission of abstracts to be selected for oral presentations!
Moreover, there will be a session dedicated to an internal discussion of how these approaches are currently implemented at RPT-FIOCRUZ platforms and how to improve its capacity.
The event is associated with the Silver Jubilee Centennial of the 125 years of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute.
