Conferência internacional debate mudanças climáticas
Encontro trará propostas de intervenção em qualidade de vida para as cidades com base no conceito de saúde única. A transmissão será pelo YouTube, entre 16 e 19 de novembro.
 
O Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/Fiocruz) e o Núcleo Latino Americano da Urban Climate Change Research Network organizam a “1ª Conferência Latino-Americana de Saúde e Educação Ambiental: das mudanças climáticas à qualidade de vida nas cidades”. O evento on-line é aberto ao público acontece entre os dias 16 e 19 de novembro, com transmissão ao vivo pelo Canal do IOC no YouTube.
 
Visando o fortalecimento de redes de pesquisa e ensino, serão discutidas políticas públicas com propostas efetivas de intervenção para melhoria da qualidade ambiental, geração de produtos educativos relevantes e uma melhor integração da sociedade com o ambiente acadêmico.
 
Diante das evidências dos danos e riscos climáticos, este evento visa fomentar o diálogo de diferentes saberes, estimulando a cooperação entre especialistas em diversos campos relevantes para as cidades, tais como a ciência do clima, inovações tecnológicas, poluição, saneamento, justiça ambiental, saúde, e formação de cidadania planetária, que serão desenvolvidos dentro do conceito de One Health. Adicionalmente, resultados a serem divulgados no Terceiro Relatório da Avaliação de Pesquisa em Mudança do Clima e Cidades (ARC3-3), que está sendo preparado pela Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN) e será publicado pela Cambridge University (ver uccrn.org) serão apresentados. Espera-se contribuir com soluções para tornar as cidades mais saudáveis e resilientes às mudanças climáticas.
 
O Núcleo Latino-americano da UCCRN é coordenado pelo IOC/Fiocruz e o Centro Clima / COPPE - Instituto de Pesquisa e Pós-graduação de Engenharia/ UFRJ - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Hoje a UCCRN sediada no Earth Institute/Universidade de Columbia mantém mais de 1200 membros sediados em todo o mundo.
 
A Conferência contará com uma Comissão Científica que avaliará e premiará os melhores trabalhos apresentados.

International conference debates climate change

The meeting will bring proposals for intervention in quality of life for cities based on the concept of unique health. The broadcast will be via YouTube, between November 16th and 19th.
The Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) in collaboration with Latin American Center of Urban Climate Change Research Network (LA-UCCRN) organizes the “1st Latin American Conference on Health and Environmental Education: from climate change to quality of life in cities”. The online event, open to the public, will take place between November 16th and 19th, and will be broadcast live by the IOC Channel on YouTube.
Aiming at strengthening research and teaching networks, public policies will be discussed with effective intervention proposals to improve environmental quality, generate relevant educational products, and better integrate society with the academic environment.
In view of the evidence of climate damage and risks, this event aims to foster the dialogue of different knowledge, stimulating cooperation between experts in various fields relevant to healthy cities, such as climate science, urban and technological innovations, pollution, sanitation, environmental justice, health, and training of planetary citizenship, which will be developed within the concept of One Health. Additionally, results to be released in the Third Climate Change and Cities Research Assessment Report (ARC3-3), which is being prepared by the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN) and will be published by Cambridge University (see uccrn.org) will be presented. It is expected to contribute with solutions to make cities healthier and more resilient to climate change.
The UCCRN Latin American Center is coordinated by IOC/Fiocruz and Centro Clima / COPPE - Institute for Research and Graduate Studies in Engineering/ UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Today the Earth Institute/ Columbia University-based UCCRN maintains more than 1200 members based around the world.
