The Office for Graduation Programs of the Vice-Presidency of Education, Information and
Communication of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) hereby announces, by means of
the present call, that the application period for the Portuguese for Foreigners Course
selection is open from March 19 up to April 04. The course of Portuguese for Foreigners is
aimed at foreign students, enrolled in our Graduate Programs (masters, professional or
doctorate), and at the visiting researchers of Fiocruz. This action, targeted to the foreign
collaborators who are linked to our postgraduate and research programs, aims to improve
their fluency in Portuguese language by increasing their language comprehension skills,their learning improvement at the academic disciplines, interpersonal relationship,
intercultural competence, academic cooperation and research conduction at Fiocruz.
Objectives:
Develop essential conversational and written skills that enable a more effective interaction in
everyday situations.
Offer the first steps to the understanding of more complex linguistic patterns and cultural
behavior commonly related to written and oral language in use.a) To be a foreign graduate student (Masters, Profession Masters or doctorate);
b) To be a foreign researcher, acting in research at Fiocruz, officially linked to a graduate program or research department/laboratory.
c) Have an individual laptop or cell phone with internet access to use during classes;
